Standing Rules

Standing Rules are maintained in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order and record Executive Board and Membership decisions related to the policies and procedures of the Charlotte County Republican Club (CCRC).

A. Charter

  1. The officers of the Club are authorized to apply to the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) to secure sanction for the use of the word "Republican." The officers shall provide to RPOF the necessary documents required for this purpose. These include:
    1. CCRC Bylaws
    2. Officer Information Sheet
    3. Membership Roster
  2. The officers (President, a Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are authorized to sign the acknowledgments that are required by the Republican Party of Florida, which will secure the CCRC Charter.
  3. CCRC fully understands and agrees to abide by Rule 1: Use the Name Republican of RPOF Rules of Procedure (A copy of Florida Statute, Chapter 103.081 attached).

B. Membership Application Form

The following statement shall be included on the membership application form: In the interest of unity and
harmony, I agree to refrain from making personal attacks on other members of the Club under threat of expulsion by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Executive Board of the Charlotte County Republican club. I have read and agree to abide by the By-Laws of the Charlotte County Republican Club (Spaces are provide for the Applicant to sign). Adopted, 10/1995

B. MEMBERSHIP APPPLICATION FORM

The following statement shall be included on the membership application form: I have read and agree to abide by the By-Laws of the Charlotte County Republican Club (Spaces are provide for the Applicant to sign).

C. Membership

The Second Vice President shall perform the duties of the Membership Committee Chairperson.

D. Endorsement of Candidates

The CCRC as a Club shall not endorse individual candidates running for office. CCRC Members, as a matter of
personal choice, may support individual candidates.

E. Use of CCRC Membership Lists

Membership lists shall be used exclusively for official Club activities and as otherwise needed by the Republican Party.

F. Republican Party Need/Candidate

Announced Candidates may secure the Club's Membership mailing list. The Candidate must request and secure the list from the Club President.

G. Membership Telephone Lists

It is considered appropriate that each Telephone Committee Call List shall consist often (10) Member's names.

H. Candidates Petitions

It is Club policy that Members shall help candidates by signing their qualifying petition cards.

I. Dinner Reservations

Restaurant contracts require that CCRC must agree to purchase a designated number of dinner reservations. It is, therefore, necessary to charge Members who make reservations for any dinner that was not canceled by noon of the day preceding the dinner.

J. Funeral Flowers for CCRC Board Members

Funeral flowers, at a maximum cost of $50.00 may be sent in remembrance of a decease Board Member or a Board Member's spouse in the name of the Charlotte County Republican Club.

K. Publication of Candidate Information

The name, position, campaign contact telephone number, fax, email address and website as provided by the announced Republican candidate shall be published in the CCRC Newsletter. Candidates who formally announce their candidacy must provide the appropriate information to the CCRC Newsletter Editor.

L. Email

The Editor of the CCRC Newsletter is authorized to collect member email addresses in order to create a "group" email list of members. The list shall be utilized to transmit messages and other information considered important by the President or Executive Board. This list shall be kept confidential within CCRC and not shared with outside organizations or persons unless otherwise authorized by the CCRC Executive Board.

M. Resignation of CCRC Committee Chairpersons

Each year on December 31st, all Presidential committee appointees shall tender their resignation. Terminated chairpersons shall continue to perform their assignments until they are relieved of their duties by newly appointed Committee Chairperson.

N. Speakers

If a member of another political party who is not running for an office and is of interest to the Club, they could be invited to be a Speaker.
