Young Republicans represent a diverse group of young professionals and students who share a passion for Republican principles and conservative values and live in Charlotte County. Recognizing that they are the future of our Party and America, we have created a Program that allows this group to attend our Monthly Dinner Meetings and Mixers at no cost to them. This Program is entirely funded by the generosity of our members through our Youth Fund.  Youth Program Usage Guidelines:How to administer the CCRC Youth Program fundsThe President, or designee, will  oversee the Youth Fund.  The  emphasis is that local youth are the beneficiaries, not visiting friends or family members.  Past President Janice Cousino is the Youth Program Coordinator.  Please direct any questions or suggestions to her.The goal is to provide an opportunity for eligible youth to be exposed to the Club, increase membership and  support in the Club, and to mentor youths and encourage young adults to continue as Republicans. To be eligible for this program, the person must be a resident of Charlotte County between 16 and 25 years old.   The coordinator has the discretion to waive these requirements and determine financial eligibility on a case-by-case basis. Any active member of the CCRC may request to invite a youth guest to be paid for through the Youth Fund at any CCRC event. The inviting member will request use of the funds with a CCRC Board Member to ensure appropriate use of the funds prior to approval. The inviting member will inform the Hospitality Chair of the number of youths approved to attend, date of the event and when appropriate, the meal selection. The inviting member will host and introduce the youths at the event. The Youth Fund will dispense the cost of a dinner for a Business/Dinner meeting at the IYC and $10.00 for the Mixer. This Program is not funded by the Club, but through donations we receive for this purpose.  It will continue as long as there are funds available in the Youth Fund.  The coordinator may, from time to time, pause donations to the Youth Fund because of a substantial amount of money on hand.

The mission of Valerie’s House is to help children and families work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives. Our vision is that No Child Will Grieve Alone.

Valerie’s House is named after Valerie Melvin, a nurse and a mother of two, who was killed in a car accident in Fort Myers in 1987. There were very few resources for Valerie’s family then, and grief support resources are still limited today. That is until Valerie’s oldest daughter, Angela, was inspired to bring this mission to grieving children and their families in Southwest Florida.

With locations in Fort Myers, Naples, Charlotte County, and Pensacola, Valerie’s House is a special place where children connect with one another and learn the tools to heal after they have experienced the death of someone they love.  At Valerie's House, children know others their age, and they learn that loss doesn't have to limit their dreams. In addition to our dedicated staff, many of our volunteers have lived this journey and are here to help you and your children find hope. All of our resources go directly to providing children and their families a safe place to share, grieve, and grow.

At Valerie's House, our children meet other children like them, and they create strong bonds as they begin to heal together and learn loss doesn't have to limit their dreams. Hear from 11 -year-old Ryan on why he loves to attend Valerie’s HouseValerie's House programs also support parents and caregivers as they cope with the loss of a spouse or child. We provide our group support programs at no cost to your family. At Valerie's House, children can enter our program one day, one year, or even ten years after their loss.
